Why We Built This Site
South Carolina gives the public broad access to many government and court records, with important limits for sealed, confidential, juvenile, and redacted information. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. In Lee County, the Clerk of Court handles Common Pleas civil records, General Sessions criminal records, and Family Court functions at the courthouse in Bishopville. Probate Court handles estates, marriage licenses, guardianships, conservatorships, and related probate matters. Magistrate Court handles traffic, small claims, warrants, and lower-level criminal matters, while the Sheriff's Office and regional detention system handle custody and law-enforcement records.
